Case Problem Statement
The patient is an obese 72-year-old male with HTN, hyperlipidemia and a 50 pack-year history of smoking, who presents six months S/P coronary-artery stent placement with a two-month history of progressive shortness of breath and PND. Associated
symptoms include orthopnea, cough, occasional wheezing, and significant edema of the lower extremities and abdomen. Physical examination demonstrates signs of left- and right-sided heart failure.
